Nukes as a reason to limit energy to the population

I was wasting time on an article:
https://www.divinecosmos.com/start-here/ ... roundbases
(The author has a clear disgusting political bias and wants to appear as a prophet when he is just copying information from others adding his politically correct ideology)

Well, he says:

"But, we can confirm, according to the American Academy of Sciences, that more than six thousand patents have been suppressed for so-called “security” or “public safety” reasons.

[DW: This data point is in my new book “The Source Field Investigations.” The Federation of American Scientists revealed that 5,135 inventions had been classified by the end of FY 2010.

Among other shocking revelations, we now know that any power system that is more than 70-80 percent efficient at converting energy will automatically be declared classified.]

Some of these [patents] probably need to be suppressed. We don’t want everyone to have a backyard nuke, for example.

DW: Sure
."

To be honest, I'm not sure why you're posting this.

The link is to a talk (and a transcript of the same talk), but it's a mishmash of unevidenced stuff, including a lot of garbage. (.. Nuke attacks on underground bases as important as Hiroshima and Nagasaki ... the workings of the universe ... off-world space stations ... Sukarno to give Kennedy gold ... Fed told to hand over gold to China ... Why doesn't Japan use its wealth to heal the planet...)

If there is some way to e.g. kill or poison large numbers of people, there's a good case for keeping it secret.

On the subject of suppressed inventions, this seems to be a pet topic in the USA, where education has been kept down but people have so far been relatively rich and able to publicise this sort of thing. (See how many weird quasi-religions - Mormons, Christian Science, Scientology, Children of God, Orgone stuff, Seventh Day Adventists, etc etc are American). I found some examples online - an 'indestructible car body', 'heat shield paint' which prevents an egg cooking even when blowtorched, a 'car that runs on water'. I don't know if people are so stupid as to really believe all this, or whether it's publicised to make them look fools, but I've never seen a convincing list of suppressed patents.

Fear of nukes translates into fear of people having power, civilians can't have lots of energy because with they could create nukes.

Having created the bogey-man, they could be blamed if a crazy mad man built a nuke in his garage with the very cheap electricity and the published secret technologies.

So, they "make us a favor" by keeping lots of secrets, in case we use them bad, to make dangerous nukes. That was my point. Another "benefit" of the nuke hoax is to limit research into chemistry, metals, electricity, gravity, heavy-metals, by scaring. Another side effect; What if just imagining, radioactive materials had good properties? Now they are highly controlled and hard to get. What if they were key for something? The nuke builder in his garage was the bogey-man before terrorism. "He has stuff in his garage, he does things..."

You might be getting at the same thing that I speculated about, and posted someplace, that maybe it isn't that fission is so dangerous, but rather that it is so easy. And they wouldn't want everyone knowing how easy it is and thus how everyone could make their own power. But that was back when I was thinking that nuclear power actually worked, and not now that I have severe doubts.

any power system that is more than 70-80 percent efficient at converting energy will automatically be declared classified.]

Electric induction motors are about 98% efficient in converting electrical power to mechanical. Converting power isn't the same as obtaining power from a heat engine.

I can never figure how that something which is patented could be suppressed. If it's patented, it's in the public record. It's a notice to the public that you have prior claim. It wouldn't have legal standing in court if it was patented and then kept secret. There were some patents kept secret during WWII. The antennas used on Little Boy is one example. Right after the war, they were published.

Apologies for not seeing your point!

Interesting stuff. Patents deal with practical ways of doing things; they aren't usually anything fundamental. For example, as little indentation on a mass-produced glass bottle might be patented, because it allows (e.g.) some conveyor-belt operation to work.

I remember a man running a glass factory who'd worked out how to etch glass with hydrofluoric acid. He decided not to even try patenting it, because (a) it tells competitors how to do it; (b) it costs a lot to register in multiple countries; (c) prosecuting infringers would also no doubt cost a fortune.

Another man with experience in computer chip design told me that patents tend to be less useful than they seem, because an employee of a company may draft the patent in ways which he knows can be circumvented later, should he leave the company.
