Gullible Twats

It's unbelievable the justification people resort to to convince themselves of other people's authority. People crave being dominated because they are too lazy to work for themselves.

Check out this post from http://camelotforum.com/index.php?optio ... =164#57431 Some of the other posters seem to be open-minded, but this guy is either an operative or a gullible ex-serviceman:

I for one have no doubt that Nuclear Weapons exist, and have been around for many years. I was in the Navy in the 70's and went to school for handling them. even then we able to have them on ship, but none who handled missiles then where told if there where Nuclear or not that was need to know only.

Aside from his retarded faulty grammar, he admits that he didn't know what kind of missiles he was handling - could have been torpedoes for all he knew - but states that nukes "have been around for many years." What?? How the fuck do you know? Here's some fool's gold buddy - now sign over your house.

I've noticed that people are starting to bend the atomic bomb myth to fit new revelations of its improbability. They'll say "it's not as big as it was," "it exists but they wouldn't dare use it," "the bomb in Japan was just a 'small bomb," - they'll use any kind of convoluted confabulation to deny that it's becoming increasingly obvious that nuclear and atomic bombs simply do not exist and never have.

I knew a guy whose father worked at Los Alamos and designed and assembled atomic bombs. It was conversations with this guy where he described what his father had told him about atomic bombs that was part of what convinced me that they don't work.

FCS - Do you remember any detail of what he said with any accuracy? (Maybe you even made notes, though I suppose as you were largely in a pre-skeptic state that's unlikely).

He mainly talked about all the wires that go to each of the charges to detonate them. He said the wire was cut to exact length and each was weighed, to make certain that all the charges would detonate at the same instant.

He said the bomb goes off in the air because the radiation does more damage than the explosion. And also because, if the bomb hits the ground, it might break it, and then it won't work.

Now that I am skeptical that it would work, what he said about the radiation doing more damage than the explosion, sounds almost like an admission. But this guy believed what his father did was real enough. I wonder about the father. I only met the father once, and he was already old and not in a condition to carry on a conversation.

All the myriad technical details is itself a protection against detection of the fraud. If someone should steal the plans, and try to replicate them, they would get lost in all the detail. And then when the bomb didn't work, they would say to each other, "We must have not cut the wires to just the exact same length."

Another purpose is served as well.

So many people these days are convinced that they should be able to understand something themselves, even if they have no expertise. It preys on this mindset. They can't understand it, so instead of assuming it must not therefore work (the correct reaction) they become impressed by it and treat it with undeserved reverence.

That reminds me of the man telling me about the wind farm near me. I pointed out to him the obvious fact that they were turning when there was little or no wind. He went into a technical explanation about ball bearings and modern engineering, and how easy something could be made to move. And that his wife could push his Humvee on the level pavement.

He got so lost in the details that he forgot, or didn't know, that a wind turbine is an energy conversion device that converts wind energy to electrical energy, and therefore; no wind in means no electrical power out. Or stated more practically: Your wife might push your Humvee on level pavement, but not up a steep hill.
